This afternoon workshop is both lever harp and pedal harp players. Bring your harp.
Sylvia will cover the following subjects.

Chords & Inversions: To make sure everyone is on the “same page.”

Advanced Beginning Music Theory: Left Hand Patterns / Bass Lines for Arrangements: Make your arrangements more interesting by varying your left hand patterns and paying attention to your bass lines.

Keys and Transposing: How to play in various keys on your harp, tuning your lever harp in keys other than C, and how to transpose a piece from one key to another.

The Music Business: Sylvia will talk about any aspects of the music business that interests the participants. For example; getting gigs, contracts, making your own CD, publishing your own music, recording studios, basic copyright issues etc. Bring you questions and your curiosity and get ready to pick Sylvia's brain!

The first part of this workshop will be geared to very beginning harp players. As the workshop develops and the concepts and techniques become more complex, it will be suitable for more advanced players.

This 90 minute workshop is for lever harp or pedal harp players of any level. Sylvia will begin with an explanation of basic chords and inversions. Next, you'll learn to read a lead sheet (chord sheet) and play along with actual studio tracks from a recording session. The final section of the workshop will cover how to easily transpose a piece from one key to another. Bring your lever or pedal harp and have FUN!
