Sheet Music from UP

Disney-Pixar's Theme from UP, Now Available as PDF Sheet Music for Harp!

Up Balloons

One of this summer's movie blockbusters is Disney-Pixar's animated feature called UP. There is a sweet and tender love theme that is played throughout the film whenever Carl is thinking about his true love, Ellie. When Sylvia saw UP, she was convinced that this touching love song, reminiscent of a music box, would sound great on the harp. And she was right!

Sylvia received permission from Disney to arrange this piece of music for harp and has completed 2 versions: one for pedal and large lever harp, and one for smaller lever harps with one octave below middle C. Both arrangements are for advanced beginners and above, and include fingerings and chord symbols. The music is in the key of G (1 sharp) with several C# lever changes required within the piece. There are many ascending glissandos, which Sylvia thought a perfect accompaniment for a movie entitled UP!

You can now purchase a PDF of the sheet music of Sylvia's two harp arrangements on our website. You receive BOTH arrangements together for the low price of only $5.95, PLUS you get the music NOW! No waiting for your package to arrive, and no shipping charges. Once you complete your order on our website, you'll receive an e-mail with the link for you to download your PDF of the music. Simply print it out on your printer, and you're ready to start playing.

This newest harp arrangement from Sylvia will only be available from our website, and only as a PDF download. It will not be available in a printed version.

Want to hear this lovely theme? You can listen to Sylvia's pedal and large lever harp arrangement by clicking the arrow button on the UP PDF download page.

Have fun with this "UP-lifting" music . . . and don't forget to keep your thumbs UP!

Our "Review-It" Winner: Elizabeth Hagberg

This month's "Review-It" winner is Elizabeth Hagberg from Tucson, Arizona for her review of Bonnie Mohr's Colorful Adventures on the Harp book.

Colorful Adventures
Elizabeth's review:
"I have used this book several times now to teach the harp to a new student under 8 years old. I love the use of color in the book! The red C's and blue F's make it much easier for the student to read the music. I highly recommend it!"

We asked Elizabeth to tell us about herself, and here's what she said:
"I'm from Tucson, Arizona, and I've been blessed with the privilege of playing the harp for about 13 years now. While I have played in orchestras, bands, harp ensembles, church groups, and many solo gigs, my absolute favorite place to play my harp is for elderly and terminally ill patients. I enjoy sharing with them the peace that can flow out through the soft music of the harp. Whether I'm playing classic hymns like 'It Is Well With My Soul' or just simple harmonic chord progressions, I can feel the presence of God in the room. Since before the time of King David, the harp has been used as an instrument of both worship and healing, and I am still amazed that I get to participate in this beautiful tradition. Teaching the harp has further deepened my love of the instrument as I get to see a passion for music develop and grow in young students. Although my official 'career' is being a special education teacher for visually impaired students, I know the harp will always be a major part of my life and ministry, and I thank God for that. I'm also grateful to Sylvia for the pioneering work she has done in the harp world. Many people have had access to the harp, through her many publications and her wonderful store, who never would have dared to try without her work having paved the way for them and bridged the gap between the professional harpist and the passer-by who stops to pluck a harp for the first time. Thank you Sylvia!"— Elizabeth
