The Lyon & Healy Electroacoustic 2000 harps merge the finest qualities of their acoustic harps with the latest technological advances to create an instrument of dynamic range and clarity. Research and development for Lyon & Healy’s electroacoustic harps began in the early 1980s in response to performance harpists’ demands for amplified sound equal in clarity and quality of sound to their acoustic harps. Featuring the most sophisticated pickup system designed for the harp to date, the Lyon & Healy 2000 Electroacoustic harps allow you to take advantage of all the current electronic devices available to other musicians. Electroacoustic harps produce this sound through the use of electric transducers placed on each of the harp’s strings. The transducers, specially designed for Lyon & Healy, are constructed to transform the acoustical sound of the string into an electrical signal. The result of this technology is an amplified harp which emits a reproduction of an acoustic sound in its natural state – the classic Lyon & Healy sound. This advanced transducer system also eliminates pedal box noise in recording or performance. No longer need you worry about being in a sound-proof environment when recording or performing. In craftsmanship and visual appeal, the Electroacoustic 2000 harps are very similar to a traditional pedal harp and use the same strings and pedal mechanism. The Electroacoustic 2000 harps come in a variety of assorted finishes, both traditional and contemporary. Contact the Harp Center for availability. |
