Carlos Salzedo’s poignant arrangement of the Appalachian carol I Wonder As I Wander is simple, but incredibly effective on the harp. In the first verse, the melody is played in octaves. The second verse adds a haunting harmony of 2-note chords. In the third verse, the melody moves to the left with octave drone chords in the right. This arrangement is in 7 flats, but can be played on lever harps in the key of C. (Just totally ignore the flats!) The low A note in the bass octaves will be off the range of most lever harps, but can easily be left out. Fingerings included. This is a lovely solo for Christmas Eve services, and throughout the holiday season.
