Verlene Schermer has now expanded her popular series of "With a Twist" books to include traditional Christmas carols.
The "twist" is Verlene's new jazzy approach in the arrangements of these tunes that are usually played with traditional chords and rhythms. The arrangements in this book are for lever harp, but can be played just as easily on pedal harp or piano. The pieces are in the key of C or 1 or 2 sharps, and most can be played on a lever harp with only F and C levers. (For one tune, you’ll also need a G#, and for another you’ll need either a B-flat or A# . . . or simply omit that note.) There are only a few lever changes within the pieces, and “O Christmas Tree” has some fun lever slides.
Each arrangement uses jazzy chords, jazzy rhythms, or both. Chord names are also given for guitar or any other chording instrument. No fingerings are included. 25 pages, comb-bound.
