These seven preludes and etudes, written by Francois Joseph Naderman in late Classic style, have been revised by Alphonse Hasselmans. The multi-movement sonatas include fingerings and pedal markings. This collection is great for students because of the progressive approach to technique, but these works are also lovely recital pieces. 51 pages. For PEDAL harp only.
François Joseph Naderman (1773-1835) was the first professor of harp at the Paris Conservatory. His father was a harpmaker, and François Joseph was taught by a friend of the family, Johann Baptiste Krumpholz. By this time in history, the newly modeled double-action harp fashioned by Sebastien Erard had been recognized and favored by many experts. However, Naderman preferred to write for and play on the single-action harp exclusively. A true virtuoso, Naderman even performed concerts for Napoleon!
