Illuminations was written by Tina Tourin, the founder of the International Harp Therapy Program. The 15 introductory pages give helpful information on modes, tempo, tone and working with patients. The main part of this book contains 25 original compositions written by Tina. Each piece has several arrangements: one for beginning harp players and harps with one octave below middle C; one for smaller harps with the lowest string being G below middle C; and intermediate to advanced versions of each song which are arranged as played by Christina on her Illuminations CD. 140 pages, spiral-bound.

This book is well worth the price. There are over 25 different songs with at least two to three arrangements for each of them. Many of the large harp/small harp arrangements are in the same key and could be adapted as duets. The more advanced arrangements generally are not too difficult. The arrangements for small or therapy harp are nice and full, utilizing the range of the instrument well. They are more musically sophisticated than many arrangements for small harp. The arrangement of Clair de Lune is very servicable (and suitable for therapy harp!) though not quite as nice as the Balderston or Brundage arrangements. It is also a nice alternative for those who struggle with levers as it has only six lever changes. There is a nice introductory section on modes and healing music and the performance notes are quite interesting as well.
