Harper's Brew book by Aryeh Frankfurter: Scandinavian

We’re happy to finally have Aryeh Frankfurter’s innovative arrangements in print! His first book includes traditional Celtic tunes from his new Harper’s Brew CD (see below). The music is from Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, including 5 O’Carolan tunes. It is arranged for intermediate players, and is in the key of C or 1 to 2 sharps, with very few lever changes. Chord symbols are included, but no fingerings. There are extensive explanatory notes at the beginning by Aryeh and by Verlene Schermer (who transcribed and edited the music) regarding how the music is written and should be played. 60 pages, comb-bound.

Aryeh Frankfurter's uncommon approach to the Celtic harp and folk harp repertoire has gained him substantial recognition both within and outside of the Celtic harp community. Aryeh has performed in the summer of 2001 for an audience of 3400 at the amphitheatre Dalhalla in Rattvik Sweden. He is a mainstay performer at San Francisco's Ghirardelli Square. He was a workshop speaker and performer at the Harpcon 2000 held in Monterey California and has performed internationally in Sweden's oldest and largest music festival Musik Vid Siljan and at the Falum Musical Festival in the summer of 1996. Aryeh now pursues a career as a full time free lance musician performing widely throughout the San Francisco/Bay Area region of California.

Aryeh is a founding member of Azigza; a musical project which incorporates tastes of Arabic, African, Indian, Balkan and other world sounds and combines these with the hard edge drive of rock-n-roll and the elegance of classical colors. The group released their debut album "Azigza" in the summer of 2000, which has been receiving rave reviews from far corners of the globe.
