Pathway is a primer for the wire- strung harp. It teaches fingernail and damping techniques as well as basic musical abilities using simple tunes, many being single-line melodies. Each of the 20 lessons begins with a discussion of a new concept and exercises for practice. Every lesson ends with a practice task and summary to aid in learning the concept presented. There are also discussions about making music, such as advice on practicing, memorization, dynamics and phrasing. A CD of the tunes, along with the pronunciation of their Irish or Gaelic titles, is included.
