These short pieces by Renié have been revised by Grandjany with added fingerings. They are particularly helpful for introducing detailed markings that may be new to the beginning pedal harpist. Not only are they great student pieces, they exemplify Renié's exquisite writing for the harp! Fingering and pedal markings included. 5 pages. Beginning pedal harp level. For PEDAL harp only.
Includes: Esquisse (Sketch) Danse d'Autrefois (Dance of Past Times) Angelus (church bells that ring at 7 AM and 7 PM in France)
Henriette Renié (1875-1956) was a virtuoso harp performer and instructor, and among the few renowned female harp composers of her day. She studied with Alphonse Hasselmans at the Paris Conservatory and had many pupils of her own that are widely known, including Marcel Grandjany. Renié's playing technique is favored among many harpists today.
