The music in this useful book and companion CD was arranged by Beth Kolle and Laurie Riley. The 23 pieces, chosen from classical, Celtic, and Jewish repertoire, are grouped as Preludes, Processionals, Meditations (pieces that can be used mid-ceremony), and Recessionals. The arrangements are for intermediate players, with chord symbols, but no fingerings. They are in C or sharp keys, with a few lever (or pedal) changes in some of the pieces. The introduction also gives helpful hints on how much to charge, what to wear, contracts, and a handy checklist of what to bring with you when you play for weddings. 104 pages including 40 pages of music, spiral-bound.
Includes 6 O'Carolan tunes (Carolan's Draught, Kean O'Hara, Lady St. John, Eleanor Plunkett, Charles O'Conor, Frank Palmer), 2 Swedish pieces (Kringellek fran Gagnef, Sollero Langdans), 3 Jewish songs (Tum-Balalayke, Zemer Lach, Ma Navu), 3 traditional Celtic tunes (Searching for Lambs, Gilliekrankie, The Royal Dream) and 9 pieces from the classical repertoire: Theme from Jupiter (Holst), St Anthony's Chorale (Haydn) Bridal Chorus (Wagner), Canon in D (Pachelbel), Dance of the Blessed Spirits (von Gluck), Finale from Music for the Royal Fireworks (Handel), Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach), March from Scipio (Handel), and Trumpet Tune (Purcell).
