Cynthia Cathcart recaptures the original sound of the music of Scotland and Ireland in this collection of melodies played on the wire-strung harp. The uniquely bell-like resonance of brass, silver, and gold strings carries the listener to a time when legends lived and magic was a part of every day. Most of the tracks are solo harp, but some also include flute, bodhran, didjuridu, bagpipes, and cathedral bells. Many of these pieces are in Cynthia's From My Music Stand book.

Includes:
Miss Proud's Reel
Sir John Fenwick is the Flower of Them All

Great wire harp CD 12/27/2007 - by Jennifer Buehler from Lincoln, NE US
This CD really shows off the ancient, mystical sound of the wire strung harp. The sound is clear and well engineered. There are also nice contrasts between the slow and lively pieces. The liner notes add a great deal of personal meaning to the pieces. One of the most unusual but moving pieces is Ms Cathcart's arrangement of Brian Boru. It begins as a lament but ends as a cry to battle and includes dijerdoo!
