Introduced in 1918, the Style 8 is a beautiful instrument featuring a Sitka Spruce soundboard, an exotic veneer and 23-karat gold leaf gilding. Layers of intricately carved designs adorn the top of the column while the decoration at the base features a graceful pattern of swirling leaves accented by an occasional daisy. Please note this instrument was previously a Semi-Grand model and will now be built as a Concert Grand. As a Lyon & Healy Special Instrument, the Style 8 includes:
• a unique miniature lasered etching of a Lyon & Healy concert grand action plate design on the inside of the soundboard.
• hand-painted soundboard decoration using 23+ karat gold leaf featuring a rococo design of dashing crescents entwined with floral vines (not shown).
• a richly engraved, previously retired front action plate as well as an engraved back plate.
