Twilight Realm CD by Aine Minogue: Meditation Harp CDs

This ethereal CD examines the music of Celtic enchantment: of mermaids and selkies (silkies), and tunes that mortals have learned from the fairies. Áine Minogue began playing the harp at the age of 12 at her home in County Tipperary. On The Twilight Realm her harp is tastefully accompanied on various tracks by bass, whistle, clarinet, fiddle, and percussion. Aine also sings in Gaelic on a few of the songs. This relaxing recording will take you to "another world."

Aine Minogue has long explored traditional themes of Irish music and seems to capture its very essence. Her voice reflects the lyricism and richness to be found in Irish music, mythology, and poetry. Born in Borrisokane, County Tipperary, Aine's large musical family encouraged her to pursue a number of different instruments during her youth. But it was at the age of twelve that Aine discovered her true love - the harp. She moved to the United States and settled in New England, but continues to concentrate on the traditional music of her homeland, both as a soloist and collaborator.

Aine has entertained former Irish presidents and prime ministers. She is a regular performer at folk festivals and concerts throughout the country. Numerous tracks of her music appear on compilations for such labels as BMG, Virgin and Putumayo in varying styles including Celtic, world, folk and new age. Her music videos have been aired on PBS's out of Ireland and she provided a solo instrumental harp soundtrack for Dr. Leo Shea's "Yeats Country."
