Patrick is a storyteller extraordinaire, and this recording captures the intimate “by-the-fireside” feeling of his live performances. The selections are a mix of traditional and modern tales and poems, highlighted by the lovely sounds of his wire-strung harp, with a bit of flute, fiddle and Irish pipes. Patrick says, “I tried to choose stories that would feature some bit of the wordplay so beloved of the Irish, and that would reveal some facet of the Celtic character.” While G-rated, the album is geared mostly to an adult audience; young children may not understand all of the stories. 61 minutes long.
