Classically trained on pedal harp and piano, Robin Arioto Fickle specializes in traditional and early music for the lever harp. Here’s how she describes this hauntingly beautiful, unique recording: This musical journey to the distant shores of the Mediterranean conveys, in part, melodic echoes of cries once chanted by the Jewish exiles of Spain, the Sephardim, who in 1492 were forcibly evicted from their homeland for refusing to embrace Catholicism. For this solo harp recording I have selected from the Judeo-Spanish repertory one dirge and several beautiful romances, most of which stem from the Ottoman world. I have also included two Andalusian romances of Christian Spain, and two Greek tunes.

I LOVE this CD! It carries a sweet, restful Spirit that refreshes the heart. Each piece on Robin Fickle's Mediterranean Journey is skillfully and beautifully executed, yet interpreted with a flare that is uniquely her own. Wishing others to be touched by Robin's music, I have purchased it for gifts. Whether or not you have ventured to the Mediterranean, listen to the music clips and find yourself swept away to distant shores. I highly recommend this collection.
