Book (5921B) Here are Sylvia’s multi-level arrangements of 33 popular hymns, 3 wedding processionals and recessionals, and a special section of 7 Jewish pieces for joyous occasions. Each piece has two arrangements: an easy version, and one that is more difficult.
A duet version of Schubert’s Ave Maria for harp and flute, violin or voice is also included. 96 pages spiral-bound. The lyrics for the hymns are in the “Lyrics Booklet”.
Companion CD (5921D) or Cassette (5921C) The companion CD or cassette will assist harp players learning the pieces in this book. Since many of you will want to “play along” as you are learning, Sylvia has recorded most of the pieces slower than they are usually played, and as “straight” as possible, with little or no expression or rhythmic variations. Most people find the CD easier to use than the cassette, because you can go directly to a specific track. In the book each piece has two arrangements: (A) an easy version, and (B) one that is more difficult. On these recordings Sylvia plays version “A” directly followed by version “B”. Since the two versions can be played as a duet, so you can play either version along with the recording. The pieces are in the same order as in the book. The prices of the “Book and CD” or “Book and Cassette” sets listed above are $2 off the price of the products if purchased separately. The Companion CD includes all the pieces from this book. The Companion Cassette ALSO includes the Harp and Flute version of Pachelbel’s Canon from the Pachelbel’s Canon book.
Lyrics Sylvia Woods has included the lyrics in most of her books of songs, because it is fun to be able to sing-along (at least in your head) while you're playing.
However, some of her earliest books, including this one, did not include the lyrics. You can get these lyrics in two ways. #1. You can download and print a FREE PDF of these lyrics.
#2. You can purchase the Lyrics From Three Books booklet for only $2.95. It includes the lyrics for this book, as well as lyrics from Teach Yourself to Play the Folk Harp and Irish Dance Tunes for All Harps.

Are you thinking about playing your harp for others to enjoy? If so then the pieces in this book will be just perfect for many of those special occasions. I have used the arrangements included in the book as processional and recessional pieces for every wedding ceremony where I have played. The hymns are perfect for church services and I have played the traditional Israeli pieces at Chanukah parties. Hymns and Wedding Music is a must in your harp book collection.
