The amazing, affordable, variable-speed Tascam CD-VT2 CD player is now available! It has all the featues of the beloved VT1 and more! For example, the VT2 features a larger LED display that is easy to read, and re-designed buttons that increase ease of use. Along with a myriad of other features, it allows you to do the following things with a recorded CD:
#1. You can change the speed of a CD without changing the pitch. So, if you’re learning a piece, you can slow it down to hear the notes more clearly, and play along at a slower speed. You can also speed up the tempo without changing the pitch.
#2. Or, you can change the pitch of a piece by as many as 6 half-steps up or down without changing the speed. For example, if the piece is in the key of F and you want to play along with it in G, you can do that without changing the speed of the music.
#3. You can have the pitch change as you increase or decrease the tempo.
#4. Loop. Another useful learning feature is the loop: you can set start and stop points and the player will repeat only that section of the music.
#5. Play and/or sing along with a CD. With two mic inputs, you can play and/or sing along with the CD. Use the headphones or “line out” jacks (to connect to an amplifier or speakers) to listen while you play and/or sing along.
Other Features: This versatile CD player also includes a chromatic tuner, 2 mic inputs, headphone jack, line in and line out, a variety of effects, and frequency-canceling features. It is very portable: a compact 7.5" x 5.5" x 1.5", weighing only 1.3 pounds. It runs on 4 AA batteries (not included), but we recommend using the optional AC adapter when possible.
The player also has a built-in metronome. (The metronome does not work with a CD; turning on the metronome will stop CD playback.)
The player has no internal speakers, so you’ll need to plug in a headphone or speakers (not included) to hear the music.
