Did you know that there are some mice that are musical mice? This delightful picture book by harpist Diane E. Dunn tells the story of a mouse who travels to gigs in the bottom of a pedal harp. He never knows if he'll end up at a school assembly, or in a concert hall.
He particularly likes wedding receptions, where he eats cake with "other musical mice who had come with their musical instruments." Through the appealing character of the harp mouse, this story illuminates the inner workings of the harp and reveals why everyone loves its music. The gentle mouse shows everyone that they can have wonderful adventures and return home safely each time.
Linda Carollo Endres' full-color illustrations make this book an extra-special gift for anyone.
William Jackson has been at the forefront of Scottish music for over twenty years. In 1976, he was a founding member of the top Scottish band Ossian, described by The Boston Globe as "a gem in the same league as Ireland's Chieftans." William's main instrument is the Scottish harp or clarsach, which he plays and teaches. He also plays the wire-strung harp, flute, whistle, uillean pipes, and piano. William has a close involvement with major Scottish orchestras in Scotland, and his music is features on many BBC and other television productions. He was trained as a music therapist at the London Guildhall School of Music, so much of his time is spent working in this field, as well as composing and performing.
