Cantiga's Renaissance Festival Favorites Fake Book with CD
This book is wonderful for anyone who plays Renaissance music with other musicians. It is basically a fake book, with the melody and chords for 143 songs from the Renaissance and the Celtic tradition. As wth all fake books, no left hand accompaniment is provided for the harp. The pieces are in keys ranging from 1 flat to 2 sharps. Most of the pieces are instrumental, but there are also 30 "sing-alongs" with lyrics. Each piece also includes a few sentences about the music.
Robert Bielefeld, who compiled this book, has played flutes and recorders at Renaissance Festivals across America for 20 years with the group Cantiga, which features Martha Gay on a lever harp.
The enclosed companion CD includes 32 of the pieces, performed by Cantiga. The CD will give you great ideas of how the pieces can be arranged for various instruments.
