Wonderful collection of tunes

I got this for Christmas along with the companion CD. I don't read music all that well, so the CD really helps with understanding the music. Songs on the CD are played slower than normal and as blandly as possible (this is intentional). Once you have a song down you can play at normal speed and add your own embellishments.
A great collection for beginners

A great book and collection for adult beginners (which I am!) I'll be using this selection of Scottish songs for quite some time as each song has an easy arrangement and a more advanced arrangement. A very good value for the price!

I just recently purchased this book, I already own most of Sylvia Woods other books. As always, the song choices are great, and the arrangements are clear and pretty. The fingering suggestions make it super fast to learn, and the chord notation makes it easy to embellish the left hand, if desired. I'm very happy with this purchase, and a big fan of Sylvia Woods.
