Whitney Dobyns resides in Roanoke, Virginia in heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. She studied harp performance at Liberty University with Heidi O'Gara and at the University of Virginia with Heidi Lehwalder and traditional harp through workshops with Grainne Hambly, William Jackson and Robin Huw Bowen. As a member of the chamber group Obligato and the harp and recorder duo Musica Gallica, she performs in a variety of venues across Southwest and Central Virginia. An enthusiastic exponent of both classical and folk harp, Whitney teaches traditional harp at Hollins University and maintains a private studio of youth and adult harp students in Roanoke.
