For lever or pedal harp.

Butterfly Weed: Asclepias is an original composition for intermediate-level pedal or lever harp by Kathleen Blackwell-Plank. Here's how she describes the music.

This tune, in E-flat major (3 flats), was inspired by the impact of climate change on trees, birds, and plants and my commitment to biodiversity. The relaxing compound meter contributes to the melody's calming effect. By utilizing special harp techniques, various tone colors of the harp are explored. Près de la table (playing near the soundboard) is utilized when the melody moves to the bass. In the pincé passage, the thumb and index fingertips of the right hand come together "pinching" and pulling the string. For the sons xylo phrase, the sound of a xylophone is created by placing the 2nd and 3rd fingers of the left hand against the base of the described strings right where they emerge from the soundboard while the melody is played in the right hand. There are no lever changes required. Images of nature and the movement of butterflies are suggested by the musical motifs utilized. Chord symbols are included, and a few fingerings. This ten-page PDF includes seven pages of music.
