This book is a collection of traditional Honduran dance tunes collected by Luis Enrique Godoy Pagoaga in a book called Danzas Folklóricas Hondureñas Patituras para Acordeón y Guitarra. This book was given to me in Honduras by his daughter, Yesse, and I used it to create my harp arrangements in Folclore de Honduras.
There are 10 accessible tunes in order of keys, starting with two in the key of F (1 flat), five in the key of C, and three in the key of G (1 sharp). There is one tune, El Chotis, arranged for the beginner with 1 lever change and then arranged for the advanced intermediate player with numerous lever changes. No lever changes are required in any of the other pieces.
David Flores and Carmen Flores (no relation), both from Honduras, contributed the information about the music and the dances. And Douglas Alonzo, from Honduras, did the beautiful artwork for the cover and throughout the book.
The proceeds of this book will go to helping the Arpas en Armonía luthiers in Cuba, Guatemala, and Honduras to build more harps for the students.
