Amid the Winter's Snow is Suzanne Guldimann's third Christmas book for lap harps. It includes 20 carols from the Victorian era. Here's how she describes this collection.

Amid the Winter's Snow is a collection of Christmas carols popular in America and Britain during the nineteenth century. Many of the pieces are composed carols, written during the Victorian era. There is also a selection of folk carols that predate the Victorians but were still performed by street musicians, in homes, and by choirs during the nineteenth century. In arranging for an instrument with limited range, some changes are inevitable, but I have endeavored to keep the period flavor. Each piece is, in its own way, a ghost of Christmas past.

All of the pieces in this book can be played on a lap harp with a range of just two and a half octaves (from C up to G). However, on a smaller harp, you will need to play an octave higher than the music is written, treating middle C as low C. The pieces can also be played on a larger harp or on guitar, violin, flute, recorder, or any melody instrument. On a larger harp, you may wish to add some additional chords.

To keep the pieces easy to play on small harps with limited sharping levers, I have arranged them in the keys of C and G and their relative minors and modes. Chord symbols, lyrics, and historical notes accompany each piece.

Although Suzanne has arranged these carols for lap harps, they are fun to play on any size harp. The range of the music is 2½ octaves, from a C up to a G, and can be played on most lap harps, whether their range is C to C, or G to G. The pieces are in the key of C or one sharp. Some of the pieces have F#, C#, G#, D# or A# lever changes within the music, or set in advance. See the samples below.
The pieces are arranged for advanced beginners to intermediate harp players. Chord symbols are included so that more advanced players, and players with larger harps, can add more notes to the arrangements. Fingerings are included. Suzanne, who is also a fine artist, created the cover artwork and illustrations.

Each piece is 1 to 2 pages long, so this 48-page PDF includes 40 pages of music.
