Essence of the Swan is a simplified adaptation of Camille Saint-Saëns' well-known piece Le Cygne (The Swan) from Carnival of the Animals. This arrangement was adapted for intermediate lever harp players by Balfour Knight and Angi Bemiss. No lever changes are required. Chord symbols are included, but no fingerings.

Of all my publications, this is one of my most treasured. It was arranged for me by Balfour Knight while we were collaborating on our Classical Selections Book #2. I mentioned to him that there were only two pieces in the book that I hadn't mastered. About a week later, I received a handwritten score from Balfour with this beautiful adaptation of the classical piece. Amazing! People love to hear it, and you will enjoy playing it as you marvel at Balfour's arrangement (especially if you take the time to look at the original which requires about a dozen lever changes).

Angi's unique PDF music layout gives you 2 versions of the same piece: a 2-page "Key of C" version, and a 2-page "Key of E-flat" version (in 3 flats). Since you get BOTH the C and E-flat versions, you'll have a perfect arrangement, no matter which way you tune your lever harp!
