Toshio Hosokawa (1955 - ) is a Japanese composer of contemporary classical music. His modern contemporary music arrangements of two Japanese folk songs include a variety of harp effects, such as "pinch strings between two fingers and snap" and "beat strings of lowest register with palm." He includes a chart of abbreviations and symbols used in the music. The two folk songs are a 3-page Falling Cherry Blossoms and a 2-page Lullaby of Itsuki. Hosokawa's 6-page composition Gesine is a very slow, rubato 8 minute piece. For intermediate to advanced pedal harpists.
