For lever or pedal harp.
Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring is one of Johann Sebastian Bach's best-loved works. Sylvia Woods has created several arrangements of this beautiful piece in one book or PDF download: harp solo, harp duet, harp and flute (or other melody instrument), including an optional vocal part. For each arrangement, she provides a "score" as well as separate parts. The harp arrangements are for intermediate to advanced harp players. In the key of 3 sharps, with lever changes. Fingerings are included. 32 pages. The book is spiral-bound.
NOTE: Both of the duet parts include A-sharps. Therefore, if your lever harp is tuned to 3 flats, you will need to re-tune two of your A strings to A-natural before you begin either of the duet arrangements, so you can use your levers to make the required A-sharps. No re-tuning is necessary for the lever harp solo arrangement, as it does not include any A-sharps.
No re-tuning is necessary before you start if you normally tune your A strings to A-natural.

Companion CD or mp3 downloads
On the Companion CD or mp3 downloads Sylvia Woods plays most of the arrangements in her Pachelbel's Canon and Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring publications.
The purpose of these recordings is to assist harp players in learning these pieces. Since many players will want to "play along" with the CD as they are learning, Sylvia has recorded them slower than they are usually played, and as "straight" as possible, with little or no expression or rhythmic variations. The Canon was recorded at a metronome marking of 92, and Jesu at 100. In all of the duet versions, one harp part is on one track of the stereo, and the second harp part (or the flute part) is on the other. If your CD player or your speakers allow you to turn down one channel, you can play along hearing just one part.
The three versions of the Canon are played first in the original key of D, and then in the key of G. You can play the Advanced Harp Solo along with the Easy Harp Solo on the CD. The flute player took some liberties with which octave the notes are played, to fit into the range of the flute.
None of the versions of Jesu include the repeat, they go straight to the second ending. You can play the Pedal Harp Solo version of Jesu along with either duet version on the CD.
