For lever or pedal harp.
Sylvia Woods has arranged 12 of John Denver's beautiful love songs for advanced beginner and intermediate harp players. His music sounds wonderful on the harp, and is fun to play. There is only one sharping lever change in the entire book. Even if you don't think you're a John Denver fan, we're sure you'll love these lyrical arrangements. Songs are in the key of C or 1 or 2 sharps. Lyrics and chord symbols are included. 48 pages, spiral-bound.

Write a reviewSome nice pieces, some so-so
By Michelle R.
I'm not specifically a John Denver fan (he's more my parents' cup of tea than mine), but some of these arrangements lend themselves very well to harp. "Annie's Song" and "Leaving on a Jet Plane," the only songs I was familiar with when I purchased this book, are appealing in their familiarity. I've also become fond of "Fly Away," "For You," and especially "Dreamland Express" (which has a fun calypso feel and even sounds cute on my 22-string lap harp), just based on their sound on the harp- I have never actually heard them sung. The rest of the songs, since I'm not really into John Denver, are kind of unmemorable and boring to play.
Sweet and simple
By Shirleen Loy
The arrangements lean on the simple side but that means it doesn't require too much work to play them decently and enjoy the pieces! I use it to give my fingers and brain a break from more difficult repertoire.
A Favorite in the OIC
By Jessica Gallo
I use this book often when I play in the Oncology Infusion Clinic. People are either waiting for chemo or receiving treatment and they have to spend most of their day at the hospital. I've noticed people's faces absolutely light up when they hear me play John Denver. His music is so uplifting and positive and provides a wonderful distraction from what these people are going through.
I love these arrangements. They are simple and I can easily find the melody and bring it out (something I have to do often for patients that are hard of hearing). I appreciate that she includes the chords above so I can embellish the pieces if/when I want to.
Love Sylvia's Music
By Cherith Hendrich
I love Sylvia's collections. They are easy to play on the harp and include the chords to make the melodies seem much more complex. I love playing music people recognize and Sylvia's music is just that!
