For lever or pedal harp.
Linda DeBrita originally wrote The Light of Darkness to be played during a Maundy Thursday communion service. This moving and emotional piece is perfectly named, as it is meditative and dark, with glimpses of hope. A harp with 2 octaves below middle C is required, as much of the piece is on the lower strings with a busy left hand playing almost constant eighth notes. It is in the key of D minor (1 flat), and has 2 C# accidentals. There are no fingerings. 3 pages of music for intermediate players.
