The Harpstrings Double-Knit Accent Scarf is an elegant accent to make for yourself or as a gift for your favorite harper or harpist. It is a reversible piece featuring a stylized lyre design. This knitting pattern by Caroline Steinford is sold here as a PDF download.

The scarf is 5" x 50" and uses fingering or sock-weight yarn, approx. 250 yd of each color. It can be completed as shown with 1 skein of each color of KnitPicks Stroll. If you want to add repeats and make the scarf longer, you will need extra yarn. Colors shown are Pine (green) and Dune Twist (tan/brown), Golden Glow (yellow) and Firecracker Heather (red).

Skills required: Knit, purl, double knitting, grafting. The scarf is worked in two pieces (from short outside edges toward center), then grafted together. Instructions for double-knitting are included in the pattern, as well as photos showing 2-layer grafting in progress.
