For lever or pedal harp.

This popular, lyrical theme from the film "Once" won the 2007 Academy Award for Best Original Song. The composers, Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova, performed the song on guitar and piano in the movie. Margot Krimmel's 3 page arrangement for intermediate players is in the key of C, with no lever changes. A page of lyrics is included.

The video clip below is from the movie soundtrack, sung by the composers.

Lyrics (included on a separate page in the music):

I don't know you but I want you
All the more for that
Words fall through me and always fool me
And I can't react

Games that never amount
To more than they're meant
Will play themselves out

Take this sinking boat and point it home
We've still got time
Raise your hopeful voice, you have a choice
You'll make it now...

Whether you're looking for a nice solo for a recital or background music for high tea or a retirement community, this is a lovely arrangement! One of my students performed it recently for a high tea to rave reviews! Not too difficult to learn.

Margot Kimmel has captured the magical mood of Falling Slowly in her harp arrangement. Feel the contentment while enjoying the ring of each note in the high register yet purposefully allowing the drive of the bass rhythm. A tune for intermediates to get serenely lost in their harp.

It is extremely difficult to find arrangements for non-traditional harp music. The harp music I have found is very limited on spanning different music styles so when I found "Falling Slowly" arranged my Margot, it was a wonderful surprise! She did a beautiful job arranging it to fit all playing levels & when played it is beautiful and so refreshing!

It is extremely difficult to find arrangements done across different music styles for the harp. Margot's arrangement of Falling Slowing was such a refreshing delight! She tapped into a much needed area in harp music and did so with such a beautiful and uncomplicated approach, all levels can play. We need so much more of her talent to arrange music across the styles!

It can be hard to find music I enjoy that is both fun and challenging. I love the arrangement of Falling Slowly because it is both and it sounds beautiful at any occasion.
