For lever or pedal harp.

Katy Bustard is the founder of Causeway Harp School: a small harp school on the north coast of Ireland. Traditional Irish Music for Small Harps is the culmination of her work with beginning harp players on small harps with 20 or 26 strings. These tunes are ideal for beginning-lower intermediate harp players and are suitable for Grade III in Traditional Irish Music.

The PDF contains a variety of Irish traditional tune types: marches, airs, jigs, slip jigs, polkas, hymns, slow airs, and tunes by O'Carolan. Katy has selected pieces that sound especially beautiful on the small harp and that her pupils thoroughly enjoy playing.

Each of the 15 tunes has two arrangements: one for 20-string harps, and another for 26-string harps. The 26-string versions include some simple forms of ornamentation. Fingerings are included on all tunes.

To accommodate harps without levers, these arrangements can be played with the harp tuned in the key of G Major (F#s). The one exception is the 26-string arrangement of Elizabeth Kelly's Favourite, which has an F natural in the accompaniment.

This 38-page PDF includes an informative 2-page introduction and 31 pages of music.

This is an ideal resource for harp teachers and for those learning harp themselves at home.
