For lever or pedal harp.
Here's how Angi describes her three "Lead Sheet Basics" publications.
The "Lead Sheet Basics" series is designed to bring clarity to the process of going from lead sheets to arrangements. First, each book provides you with lead sheets for over 40 songs. Then, each book provides you with basic, yet lovely, arrangements for each of its songs. Because the music in each book is transposed to a single tuning key (either C or E-flat), you can move seamlessly from one song to the next without having to flip a lever or move a pedal!
Perhaps most importantly, it is designed to encourage you, the harpist, to learn how to use lead sheets to create your own arrangements. For each song in Lead Sheet Basics on the page facing my arrangement, there is a worksheet for you to use in developing your own arrangement. The worksheet score has the melody line, the chords, and a blank bass line. Included in each book are examples of ten different left-hand patterns that can be used to see which one/ones fit best. You can try out one of those patterns, or look at what I did and modify it, or both!
On the following page, I've outlined how to go about creating your own arrangements. Try it, and hopefully, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the results! Once you're comfortable with the process, you'll have an endless source of songs. There are hundreds of fake books available, filled with songs in lead sheet format. Another source of melodies is an "easy" piano book. You can use the melody line and the chords as the basis for your harp arrangement.
I trust that you'll enjoy these collections of songs and arrangements and that you'll also enjoy a new sense of accomplishment and freedom as you add songs to your repertoire. Even if you don't go the lead sheet route, you now hold over 40 great arrangements in your hands. Enjoy!
This volume includes 40 traditional songs and lullabies. As Angi discussed above, each piece includes several arrangements.
