For lever or pedal harp.

Louise Trotter has arranged 6 traditional American melodies for intermediate solo harp: Shenandoah, Old Joe Clark, Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair, Deep River, Nobody Knows the Trouble I've Seen and Wafaring Stranger. These were originally improvisations that Louise recorded on an album for Sampler Records in 1990, called Shenandoah. These beautiful renditions, in free-form style, were notated after the recording was completed.

Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair and Deep River are in the key of G (1 sharp). The rest of the pieces are in the key of F (1 flat). No lever changes are required, and there are no fingerings. Old Joe Clark is arranged as a hoe-down. Wayfaring Stranger is a lush rendition using extended harmonies.

Of intermediate difficulty, these American tunes should be satisfying elements of your repertoire. The 23-page PDF includes 19 pages of music.
