Laura Olson is a music educator with over 20 years of experience specializing in stringed instruments for Clovis Unified School District in central California. She also holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education as well as a Masters of Arts degree in Irish Traditional Music Performance (fiddle and harp) and is well known in the community for her love of ethnic music and instruments.
Her experience as a symphonic musician, ethnic musician, and Film/TV composer led her to combining the three styles of music into her own compositions and arrangements. She is the owner of her recording label Blue Steer Studios which allows her to combine her success with knowledge of both the business and publishing aspects of music industry and she brings that into the classroom for her students.
Mossflower Country (2010) and her latest score for Border Guardians of Ackernon (2011) are composed with large scale orchestrations and choir in the scope of a big-budget feature film. Her latest album Gypsy Road was released in 2012 with proceeds going to Fresno Bully Rescue and Animal Compassion Team. Her current projects include scoring Aqua Sports Expeditions, a soon to be released TV series featuring travel/underwater scuba diving around the world, and her latest upcoming album Moon Trees and Sun Seas estimated to be finished in 2015.
