Lucile Lawrence (1907-2004), who recently passed away at the age of 97, began her harp studies at age 6 in New Orleans. Later she studied with Salzedo, and was married to him for 8 years. She helped refine the harp technique developed by Salzedo, and co-authored several pedagogy books with him. She is also well-known for her transcriptions and arrangements of harp repertoire. Her 70 years of harp teaching continues to influence and enrich harpists and harp playing today.
