Minnesota Teachers

Terry teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio. She will also travel to the homes of local students. No previous musical training is required. She has both lever harps and pedal harps for rent to her students. Terry teaches all musical styles, specializing in arranging, improvisation, and lead sheet playing. She has a teaching degree and has been attending Teacher Training workshops through Lyon and Healy for 5 years. She studied with Pat Anderson and Bridget Stuckey, and has been teaching since 1995.

"I teach note reading to very young students or those who have absolutely no musical background through the use of color. It is a process that I learned about through a book from Canada."

Stephanie teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio, as well as through Skype. She teaches all levels of lever harp, and beginning and intermediate pedal harp. No previous musical training is required. Stephanie specializes in Celtic and early music, and also teaches arranging and classical, folk, and religious music. She has a Bachelor's of Music in Harp Performance, and has been teaching since 2011.

Cathy teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio and at the homes of students. She teaches through Zoom and FaceTime. She also teaches at the following colleges: Bethel University, Hamline University, and University of Northwestern in St. Paul. No previous musical training is required. She teaches all musical styles, as well as composition, arranging, and improvisation. She offers harp ensembles for her students, and opportunities to share music at senior living residences. She has a BM in Harp Performance from Boston University, and a MM in Harp Performance from the University of Minnesota. Cathy studied with Frances Miller, Gladys Hubbner, Nancy Allen, Lucille Lawrence, Edward Druzinsky and Marjorie Tyre and also studied at Aspen, Tanglewood, and Sewanee Summer music Festivals. She has been teaching since 1980.

"I enjoy teaching students to play this glorious instrument. There is no limit to the music we can learn to play. My goal is to help them become the best harpists they can be, and to love learning, and sharing their music."

Lynnette teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio, and she will travel to the homes of local students. She also teaches through Skype. No previous musical training is required. Lynnette teaches all musical styles, and offers recitals for her students. She has a Bachelor's of Harp Performance, and continues education through master classes and private lessons. She has studied with Frances Miller, Suzanne Balderston, and Lynne Aspnes. She has been teaching since 1979.

She will travel to the homes of local students, and also teaches online through Skype, FaceTime, Zoom and WhatsApp. No previous musical training is required. She has lever harps for rent to her students. Shari teaches all musical styles, and offers recitals and harp ensembles. She has a Bachelor's of Music in Harp Performance from the University of Michigan, and a Master's of Music in Harp Performance from the University of Southern California. She studied with JoAnn Turovsky, Lynne Aspnes, and Frances Miller, and has been teaching since 1992.

Jeanne teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio. No previous musical training is required. Jeanne specializes in classical and orchestral music, and also teaches pop, folk, and religious music. She has a Bachelor's of Music degree, and has been teaching since 1977.

Katie teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio, as well as through Skype. No previous musical training is required. Katie teaches all music styles, specializing in classical and Celtic music. She offers recitals and harp ensembles for her students. She has been teaching since 1993.

Emily teaches all musical styles, specializing in classical and orchestral music. She offers recitals and harp ensembles. She has Bachelor's and Master's of Music degrees, and has been teaching since 1997.

Reuben teaches private lessons for children and adults at his studio, and at the homes of local students. No previous musical training is required. Reuben specializes in Celtic and classical music, and also teaches composition, arranging, improvisation, and therapy and folk music. He offers a harp circle for his students. He has a Bachelor's of Music degree from Bethel University, and is a composer and a recording artist. He studied with Ann Ransom of the Minnesota Orchestra, and Francis Miller of the University of Minnesota. He has been teaching since 1991.

Georganne teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio. No previous musical training is required. She has lever harps for rent to her students. Georganne specializes in Celtic and Renaissance / early music, and also teaches composition, arranging, improvisation, and therapy music. She offers recitals and harp circle for her students. She has a BA degree, and has been teaching since 1978. She has studied with Kim Robertson, Alie Robertson, Janet Harbison, and Maire Ne Chathasaigh.

Paula teaches private lessons for children and adults at her studio. She teaches through Zoom and Facetime, and will also travel to the homes of local students. Two years of prior piano lessons are preferred. She has lever harps for rent to her students. Paula teaches all musical styles, specializing in classical and pop music. She offers recitals, harp ensembles and harp circles, and theory classes for her students. She has a Masters of Music in Harp Performance, and a Masters of Science in Education, and has been teaching since 1978.
