Dorothy specializes in improvisation and Celtic music, as well as composition, arranging, and folk, religious, and therapy music. She offers harp ensembles and harp circles for her students. She has been the coordinator of the Milwaukee Irish Festival's Harp Stage since 1990, and has taken lessons from the performers, including Kim Robertson and Janet Harbison. She has been teaching since 1994.

"I specialize in teaching adults who have always wanted to play but never had the opportunity. I teach my students how to teach themselves. They do not have to know how to read music or have played anything."
