Carolyn Mills has created five original compositions for intermediate harp players. All of the pieces can be played on a 36-string lever harp with a full set of levers tuned to the key of E-flat. Three of the pieces can be played on a pedal harp.

Most of the pieces are in unusual time signatures with a spicy harmonic character and are fun to play and hear. Click the blue page sample links below to see the unusual key signatures used in these pieces, such as the key of B-flat with a pre-set D-sharp, or the key of F with pre-set C-sharps and A-flats, etc.

No lever changes are required within the music. A few fingerings are included, but most are left up to the performer.

Each piece is two pages and about 2 to 2.5 minutes long. Click on the Audio Tracks button above to listen to a few of the pieces.

This 12-page PDF includes ten pages of music and an introductory page explaining the special harp techniques used in the collection, such as bisbigliando, damping, playing with the nails, and xylophonic sounds.
