Ballads and Folk Songs from Finland embodies the beautiful country of Finland, including simple, fun melodies as well as melancholy tunes. Finnish harpist Tiia Purhonen's 22 arrangements are idiomatic for the harp while keeping the original melodies of the traditional and patriotic songs. The entire collection is at the intermediate level and is playable on lever harp or pedal harp.
Keys are from 3 sharps through 3 flats, with the majority being in flat keys. Six pieces have additional levers pre-set before the piece begins, and three have easy lever changes within the music. The lowest note is the C two octaves below middle C. No fingerings are marked.
